Trent McCarthy

Trent McCarthy is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in sustainability, community engagement, and governance. Currently serving as Director of Clean Economy, Engagement & Experience at Melbourne Polytechnic, Trent has held multiple leadership roles within the organization, including Acting Executive Director of Commercial, Sustainability & Infrastructure. As Chair and Executive Member of the Northern Alliance for Greenhouse Action since 2010 and a Councillor and Deputy Mayor at Darebin City Council, Trent demonstrates a commitment to environmental action and local governance. In addition, Trent founded Climate Emergency Australia and served as Chief Executive Officer at Central Ranges LLEN. With leadership positions in various organizations, including VicLLENs and the Victorian Local Governance Association, as well as academic qualifications in social science, drama, and literature from reputable institutions, Trent McCarthy is recognized for driving initiatives in sustainability and community development.
