Dwight Johnson

VP, Arena Operations at Memphis Grizzlies

Dwight Johnson enters his third season with the Memphis Grizzlies as Vice President of Arena Operations, supervising and directing facility operations, event booking, guest services and facility contractors at FedExForum.

Prior to joining the Grizzlies in March 2018, Johnson spent 13 years with SMG in Richmond where the private management company oversaw the Richmond Coliseum, Altria Theater, Dominion Energy Center, and Bon Secours Washington Redskins Training Center. He finished his career at SMG as general manager with a strong background in building operations, construction and event management.

Johnson began his career in facility management in operations at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center on the campus of Louisiana State University. While employed at the arena, Johnson was promoted several times, including his final position as director, overseeing all daily operations and booking for the facility. During his time at LSU, Dwight had the opportunity to oversee many national sporting events including the NCAA Women’s Basketball Regional, Men’s Basketball NIT Tournament games and the SEC Championship Events.

A native of Thibodaux, Louisiana, Dwight is a graduate of Louisiana State University. Dwight and his wife, Katy, have two children, Avery Kate and Drew.
