Somar Musa

Somar Musa is an experienced technology professional currently serving as a Menlo Fellow at Menlo Ventures and as the Founder of a Stealth AI Startup since August 2024. Prior to these roles, Somar held the position of Engineering Lead at TikTok and ByteDance from April 2020 to July 2024, with contributions to the TikTok Backend Team and Ads AI/Infra. Previously, Somar worked as a Software Engineer at Amazon Web Services from October 2016 to March 2020, focusing on various AWS services, and at Google from June 2014 to September 2016, where significant features for the Gmail iOS App were implemented. Earlier experiences include positions at Intel Corporation, BlackBerry, and IBM, with expertise in software development, user interface design, and backend engineering. Somar holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Toronto.
