Matt Layton is a highly experienced Principal CFD Engineer currently leading the CFD Process & Software Group at Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team since April 2022. Prior to their current role, Matt held the same position at Renault Sport Racing from May 2016 to April 2022. Matt's career includes roles as Senior CFD Methodology Engineer at TotalSim Ltd, where Matt was the lead developer of a web-based CFD platform, and as CFD Aerodynamicist at Lotus F1 Team. Earlier experience includes positions as CFD Engineer and Project Team Leader at TotalSim Ltd, and CFD Engineer at Honda Racing F1. Matt holds a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Southampton.
