Joel Tamayo

Joel Tamayo serves as the Associate Director of Oncology Market Research & Analytics at Merck since April 2023, leading US and global market research for the KEYTRUDA gynecologic oncology portfolio and collaborating with cross-functional teams for strategic decision-making. Prior to this role, Joel was an Engagement Manager at Axiom Healthcare Strategies, managing oncology and rare disease projects focused on portfolio management and growth strategy. Earlier experience includes positions as Associate Engagement Manager and Consultant at Precision AQ, where strategic and scientific tactics were developed to enhance the commercial success of pharmaceutical brands. Joel began a research-focused career as a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow at Princeton University, where a PhD in Molecular Biology was obtained after earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Miami.
