Tina Xiong

Tina Xiong is an experienced Associate Principal Scientist at Merck, specializing in Discovery Pharmaceutical Sciences and Oral Formulation Sciences since December 2017. In this role, Tina Xiong focuses on formulation risk assessment for peptides, biologics, and small molecule drug candidates, addressing bio-performance issues in clinical settings and early-stage pharmaceutical development. Prior to Merck, Tina Xiong was a Graduate Research Assistant at Johns Hopkins University, where development of a targeted methyltransferase using CRISPR-Cas9 was achieved. Earlier research experience includes work at NYU Tandon School of Engineering, where insertional fusions of Beta-lactamase enzyme were created, and as a Biophysics Researcher at Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research, where binding affinities of protein-protein interactions were characterized. Tina Xiong holds a Ph.D. in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical and Biological Engineering from NYU Tandon School of Engineering.
