John Wong

John Wong is a highly experienced electrical engineer with a career spanning over two decades in various engineering roles. Currently serving as a Specialist Engineer - Excitation at Mercury NZ since May 2022, John played a crucial role in the commissioning of the Maraetai 2 ABB Unitrol 6080 Excitation system. Prior to this, John held the position of Senior Electrical Engineer at Mercury Ltd, contributing to significant projects such as the installation and commissioning of electrical systems at multiple water treatment plants while working with Watercare. John’s extensive experience also includes a tenure as Senior Electrical Engineer at AECOM New Zealand and an Associate position at KTA Sarawak. John obtained a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from UNSW between 1991 and 1995.
