John Borrow

John Borrow has extensive experience in maritime and information technology roles, currently serving as Master at Mercy Ships since April 2024. Prior to this position, John held various key roles, including Information Technology Support Manager and System Administrator at Benedict Group from October 2020 to April 2024, and Chief Officer at Coral Expeditions for a brief period in 2021. Throughout a notable career with Mercy Ships, John served as Ship's Captain and Chief Officer on the Africa Mercy, significantly contributing to providing healthcare to underserved communities in Africa. Additional experience includes Information Technology Operations Manager at Arup, where John managed regional teams and led major software projects, as well as serving as Chief Officer on various Mercy Ships and in IT roles at Arup. John holds a Diploma in Applied Science, Nautical Science from the Australian Maritime College and a Higher School Certificate from St Andrews Cathedral School in Sydney.
