Kris Nackaerts is an accomplished professional in data engineering and remote sensing with extensive experience across various roles in multiple organizations. Currently serving as the Head of MarlinDT Data Engineering at Merkator since December 2021, Kris previously held the position of Senior Geoscience Analyst. Prior to this, Kris was the Head of the Agriculture Department at GeoVille Information Systems and Data Processing GmbH and a Senior Expert in GIS & Remote Sensing at No Crosstalk. Kris also founded EDInsights AS, where responsibilities included serving as CTO and Senior Remote Sensing Engineer. Notable previous positions include Service Development Manager at Kongsberg Satellite Services and Senior Researcher & GDI Coordinator at VITO. Additionally, Kris has contributed to the scientific community as a member of various committees and think tanks, enhancing expertise in precision farming and innovation in geospatial technologies. Academic credentials include a doctorate in Remote Sensing and a degree in Agricultural Engineering from KU Leuven.
