Mitch Talesfore

Mitch Talesfore is an experienced educator, currently serving as a teacher at MESA Charter High School since August 2018. Prior to this role, Mitch worked as a private tutor with MeriEducation from August 2017 to January 2022 and also freelanced as a private tutor from January 2012 to January 2022. Additionally, Mitch held the position of Academic Director at Titan Tutors LLC from October 2016 to August 2017 and worked as an after school tutor at Roxbury Multi Service Center from November 2013 to May 2014. Mitch's diverse experience includes a brief stint as a farmhand at Township Valley Farm in 2014. Educationally, Mitch holds a Master’s degree in Secondary Education from USC Rossier School of Education and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science with a concentration in Environmental Geology from Northeastern University, along with a recent certification in Data Analytics obtained through Coursera.

MESA Charter High School

Math, Engineering, and Science Academy (MESA) Charter High School is a community high school in Bushwick, Brooklyn. We opened our doors on August 19, 2013, and we now have 465 students in grades 9-12. We graduated our first class of seniors in June 2017 and our graduation rate is 92%. Our students come from more than forty different middle schools, including public, parochial, and charter schools. Some are advanced students coming from magnet schools; others are beginning English Language Learners. What they all have in common is a desire to succeed. MESA students come to school every day, ready to work—we have a 95% attendance rate and a 97% punctuality rate, both significantly higher than other high schools in our district! When it comes to regents pass rates, MESA outperforms its peers by a rate of 20-30%!
