Carey J. Whitworth has extensive experience in information security leadership, currently serving as the Chief Information Security Officer at Meta since February 2018. In this role, Carey leads the Information Security team, focusing on the development and implementation of security programs to safeguard technologies and services, as well as establishing security policies and promoting awareness across the university. Prior to Meta, Carey worked at Turner Construction Company, initially as an Application Developer from February 2012 to October 2013, and later as the Director of Information Technology Security from February 2016 to January 2018, where responsibilities included establishing a sustainable security program and creating the first computer security incident response team. Carey holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from UCLA, awarded in October 2011.
