Darron Young is an accomplished leader in the field of photonics and AI hardware engineering, currently serving as Director of AI HPC Hardware Engineering at Meta, focusing on next-generation AI and HPC systems hardware. With extensive experience at Intel Corporation, Darron held senior director positions, leading product management for silicon photonics and successfully growing the business to over a billion dollars in sales. Previous roles include Sr. Director of Sales at Newport Corporation, driving significant revenue growth and market share recovery, and Sr. Director of Product Management at Source Photonics, managing a substantial product line and increasing revenue from $20M to $120M. Darron also co-founded Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals, bringing innovative lab-on-a-chip technology to market. Darron's educational background includes a PhD in Semiconductor Physics from UC Santa Barbara, an Executive Program in Accounting and Finance from Stanford University, and a Post Doctoral Fellowship in Physics at Caltech.
