Kanika Narang, PhD, is a Senior AI Research Scientist at Meta since July 2020, contributing to the Gen AI team and the Modern Recommendation Systems AI team, as well as having experience in the Trust & Safety AI team. Kanika served as a reviewer for the AAUW scholarship panel and was a panel member for the National Science Foundation, reviewing multimillion-dollar research funding proposals. Educationally, Kanika holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where studies were completed in May 2020, following a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science (Hons) from Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi. Previous professional experiences include research internships at Facebook AI focusing on hate speech detection and software engineering roles at Facebook, Microsoft Research, and IBM Research Labs.
