Kuangwei Hwang 黃光偉 is an accomplished technology leader with extensive experience across various high-profile companies. Currently serving as the Head of Platform Engineering at Meta since February 2023, Kuangwei oversees a team of 24, including engineering managers and staff-level engineers. Prior roles include Director of Engineering at Supernatural and Within, both of which were acquired by Meta in 2023. Kuangwei's entrepreneurial ventures include founding Vrideo, where significant achievements included building a VR video streaming platform with a large user base. Additional experience encompasses leadership positions at ZEFR, BetterWorks, PureConduit, and Cisco, showcasing a strong background in engineering, recruitment, and technology development. Kuangwei holds a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering and Computer Engineering, respectively, from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
