Maysam Gorji is a Senior Associate at Exponent since March 2020, with prior experience as a Research Scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from March 2018 to March 2020. Gorji's research has focused on plasticity, failure, and fracture characterization in metal forming, machine learning applications for predicting material behavior, and structural modeling in biomedical applications. A Postdoctoral Research Fellow at MIT’s Department of Mechanical Engineering from October 2016 to March 2018, Gorji also served as a Project Leader at Parax Motors in 2009-2010, winning a national electric vehicle competition. As Lead Mechanical Engineer in the RoboCup league from 2007 to 2010, Gorji achieved significant accolades in autonomous robotics competitions. Gorji's educational background includes a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from ETH Zürich and a Master’s degree from Amirkabir University of Technology - Tehran Polytechnic.
