Jessica Zdeb, AICP, is a Principal Regional Planner at Metro, where since August 2022, involvement with the Investment Areas team focuses on implementing significant regional investments for community benefit. Previously, Zdeb served as the Portland Office Director at Toole Design Group from November 2012 to March 2022, leading efforts to enhance community safety and enjoyment in travel, particularly for pedestrians and cyclists, with a commitment to equity in transportation. Earlier professional experiences include roles as a Researcher at the Institute of Urban and Regional Development, a Graduate Student Instructor in GIS at UC Berkeley, and an intern at HUD's Office of Sustainable Housing and Communities. Zdeb's career began with positions at the Sierra Club and as an independent research consultant. In addition, Zdeb managed the Food Literacy Project at Harvard University Dining Services, enhancing community engagement through a successful Farmers' Market initiative. Zdeb holds a Master's degree in City Planning from the University of California, Berkeley, and an A.B. in American history from Harvard University.
