Laura Wiles

Chief of Staff at MTA

Laura Wiles is Chief of Staff.

Since Wiles joined in the MTA in 2013, she has coordinated three biannual fare changes, analyzed joint development opportunities around rail expansion projects, and coordinated with local government on transportation and land use policies.

From 2019 to 2021, she helped stand up MTA Construction & Development as the single integrated agency in charge of planning, improving and expanding the MTA network, before coming back to HQ in her current role. All of her work has required extensive coordination across different MTA departments, which she continues to do in her role as Chief of Staff.

Wiles has an MA in City and Regional Planning from UC Berkeley, and a BA in Urban Studies from Vassar College. She lives in New York’s sixth borough, New Jersey’s Hudson County, with her husband and two children.
