Karen Ames is an experienced professional with a notable career in strategic communications and public relations within the arts and cultural sectors. Since May 2014, Karen has served as the Director of Cultural Initiatives at Meyer Sound, focusing on building recognition and new business through communications, marketing initiatives, and strategic partnerships. In addition to this role, Karen is the President and Founder of a boutique consulting firm established in May 2008, specializing in the classical music and arts fields. Previous positions include Director of Communications and Public Affairs at both the San Francisco Opera (2005-2008) and San Francisco Symphony (1986-2005), as well as Director of Public Relations at the Houston Grand Opera (1989-1992).
