Michael Darracott has a diverse work experience in the geospatial and mapping industry. Michael started their career as a Design Technician at Balfour Beatty Utility Solutions in 1996, followed by a role as a Design Engineer at Persimmon Homes from 1997 to 1999. Michael then joined the KOREC Group in 1999 where they worked as a Support Analyst/Trainer for two years before becoming a Technical Sales Consultant from 2001 to 2006.

In 2006, they joined Ordnance Survey as a Business Development Manager and later became the Utility Sector Account Manager from 2009 to 2010. Michael then served as the Energy and Infrastructure Sector Account Manager from 2010 to 2011.

From 2011 to 2013, Darracott worked at Surveylab, ikeGPS Geospatial Solutions as the Sales and Support Services Director, EMEA. In the same year, they founded PURPLE RIVER (SERVICES) LIMITED, where they held the position of Founder and Managing Director. Their expertise in geospatial consultancy, mapping technologies, and sales led him to develop ideas and deliver mapping solutions for integrating technologies in various applications.

Since 2014, Darracott has been the Managing Director at MGISS, where they support resilient infrastructure and clean growth using spatial data and technology.

From 1991 to 1995, Michael Darracott studied Engineering Surveying at Nottingham Trent University, earning a BEng Honours degree.
