Brian Bai

Brian Bai, Ph.D., is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in data science and machine learning. Currently serving as a Principal Data Scientist and Senior Manager of Platform AIML at Michaels Stores since April 2022, Brian leads a diverse team of 15 data professionals. Prior to this, Brian held key roles at Schlumberger, including Data Science Manager and Senior Data Scientist II, where impactful ML-enabled software development contributed to significant savings. Additionally, Brian's experience includes a Senior Data Scientist position at Weatherford and a Data Scientist role at Shell, where innovative real-time machine learning applications were developed. Brian's technical expertise is complemented by a solid educational background, holding a Ph.D. in Ocean Engineering from Texas A&M University, a Master's in Engineering Mechanics/Ocean Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and a Master's in Data Science from Georgia Institute of Technology.
