Catherine MacGregor is chief executive officer and a member of the board of directors of Engie. MacGregor was named CEO in January 2021, and has spent her entire career in the energy sector.

Before joining Engie, MacGregor was a member of the executive committee of TechnipFMC and managed the entity responsible for engineering activities, Technip Energies. She notably prepared its initial public offering. Prior to this, MacGregor worked at Schlumberger for 23 years, where she held a wide range of positions including president of the drilling group, president of Europe and Africa area and vice president of Human Resources, and worked in various geographic areas including the Republic of the Congo, the United States, the United Kingdom, Malaysia and France.

MacGregor is a graduate of the Ecole Centrale de Paris (CentraleSupélec).

MacGregor joined the Microsoft Board as an independent director in December 2023.

Founded by childhood friends Bill Gates and Paul Allen in Redmond Washington, Microsoft began its operations as a computer software company. They quickly became a household name within the computer operating system market when it was founded in 1975. However, they are mostly known for Microsoft Windows Operating System, Microsoft Office suite, and the Internet Explorer web browser. More specifically, their products include operating systems for personal computers, servers, phones, and other intelligent devices; server applications for distributed computing environments; productivity applications; business solution applications; desktop and server management tools; software development tools; video games; and online advertising. They also design and sell hardware including the Xbox 360 gaming and entertainment console, Kinect for Xbox 360, Xbox 360 accessories, and Microsoft PC hardware products
