Claribel Torres Cortes

Claribel Torres Cortes has extensive experience in both governmental and media sectors. Currently serving as a Constitutional Officer and Surrogate Judge for Middlesex County, NJ since March 2021, Torres Cortes also holds leadership positions with the Statewide Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of NJ as Vice Chair and on its Board of Directors. Previous roles include Councilwoman for the Township of North Brunswick and President & Co-Founder of The Setroc Group, Inc. Notably, Torres Cortes has a strong background in media, having worked at the Associated Press in various capacities, ultimately as Director of Digital Media and Entertainment, where oversight of global licensing and business development was key. Educational credentials include degrees from the University of Pennsylvania in Social Impact Strategy, altMBA in Business & Leadership, and Media Studies from Northeastern University.
