Giancarlo Kerg

Giancarlo Kerg is a PhD candidate at Mila - Quebec Artificial Intelligence Institute, focusing on out-of-distribution generalization and modularity under the supervision of Yoshua Bengio and Guillaume Lajoie. Prior experience includes working as a data scientist at QuantCo, where data-driven claims management and algorithmic pricing were key responsibilities, and a research intern at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, specializing in deep learning applications in cancer immunotherapy. Giancarlo has also served as a research associate at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, a business intelligence analyst at SavingGlobal, and participated in a technical marketing program at Startup Institute. Early mentoring roles in mathematics included being a personal student mentor for the International Mathematical Olympiad and tutoring for the Ministry of Education of Luxembourg. Giancarlo holds a Master of Advanced Studies from the University of Cambridge, a Master of Science from Université libre de Bruxelles, and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Physics from the same institution.
