Marty Smith serves as the Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Millsaps College since January 2022. Prior to this role, Marty held the position of Senior Associate Vice Chancellor for Development & Alumni Affairs at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga from May 2019 to January 2022. Previous experience includes serving as VP for Advancement at Transylvania University (August 2016 - June 2019), Illinois Wesleyan University (November 2005 - July 2016), and Ottawa University (November 1999 - October 2005). Marty possesses a Master's degree in Education from the University of Kansas (1996 - 1998) and a Bachelor's degree in Public Relations from Ottawa University (1983 - 1987), with a strong focus on overseeing fundraising and alumni relations activities throughout the career.
