Steven Lee Hansen is a ceramic artist, has extensive classroom experience, and also brings experience in strategic planning, curriculum development, budgeting, crisis management, recruitment, retention, advancement and developing community partnerships.
At MIAD, Hansen provides strategic direction for the college’s academic programs and operations, faculty recruitment, as well as the college’s library, galleries, institutional technology, international programming, Emerging Technology Center and MIAD Innovation Center.
Prior to joining MIAD, Hansen served as the chief academic officer of the Munson-Williams-Proctor School of Art and dean of PrattMWP College of Art and Design. Hansen also has experience as dean of the College of Fine Arts and Design at the University of Central Oklahoma and chair of the Department of Visual Art, Communication and Design at Andrews University, Mich. Hansen has a BFA from Andrews University and MFA from the University of Notre Dame.
