Jen Jamieson

Policy Principal MILU at Ministry for Primary Industries

Jen Jamieson is an experienced professional in animal welfare and policy, currently serving in various acting managerial roles at the Ministry for Primary Industries since April 2015, including Manager Forestry Policy and Principal Adviser Animal Welfare Policy. Previous positions at MPI included Principal Adviser Animal Health and Welfare and Programme Manager for Live Animal Exports. Prior to joining MPI, Jen worked as a Senior Project Officer in Animal Welfare at the Soil Association and conducted postgraduate research on farm animal welfare at the Royal Veterinary College, where a PhD was awarded in 2013. Jen holds advanced degrees in Animal Behaviour and Welfare from The University of Edinburgh and Zoology from the University of Bristol, along with specialized training in Design Thinking from DesignThinkers Academy.
