Hugo Bussell

Hugo Bussell is an experienced professional currently serving as the Acting Manager of International Science Partnerships at the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment since November 2021. Previously, Hugo held various roles, including Private Secretary to the Minister of Science Innovation and Technology and the Minister for Auckland, as well as Senior Policy Advisor in Science Policy. Prior experiences include serving as Programme Manager for First Homes and Policy Advisor on Housing at the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, and participation in the Civil Service Fast Stream program. Hugo's background also includes a role as Private Secretary at the Cabinet Office and a position as Policy Advisor on Industrial Strategy at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy. Education includes an MSc in History of International Relations from The London School of Economics and Political Science and a Bachelor's degree in History from King's College London.
