Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO)
Adam Simkowski is an experienced meteorologist with a strong background in energy-related forecasting. Currently serving as Principal Meteorological Risk Analyst at the Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) since September 2019, Adam has advanced through roles including Senior Meteorological Risk Analyst and Operational Forecast Planner II. Prior to MISO, Adam worked at ACES – excellence in energy from November 2010 to September 2019, where responsibilities included forecasting for major cities and generating solar facility forecasts. Earlier experience includes a Weather Intern position at Chesapeake Energy, focusing on meteorological briefings for energy and agriculture, and an internship at WGN-TV under Chief Meteorologist Tom Skilling. Adam holds a Master of Science in Applied Meteorology from Mississippi State University and a Bachelor of Science in Atmospheric Science from Purdue University.
