Matthew Rand

Matthew Rand is a Senior Systems Engineer at MITRE, supporting the Commerce Department since October 2024. Previously, Matthew served as the Lead Safety Data Scientist at Wisk, where responsibilities included establishing a Safety Management System and implementing FAA-compliant safety risk management processes. Prior to Wisk, Matthew worked at Boeing in various engineering roles, contributing to the certification of autonomous systems and advancing safety and regulatory compliance. Matthew's early career involved internships in quality control, mechanical design, and sustainability engineering, alongside academic achievements, including a Master's degree in Analytics from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Bachelor's degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
