Pete Larsen

Director Of Education at MMA

Pete Larsen has a diverse work experience in the architecture and construction industry. Pete started their career as a CAD Operator at HJ Mack Engineering in 2002 and later worked as an Architectural Intern at Global Sports and Tennis Design Group and Bailey Edward Architecture. In 2007, they continued their internship at Bailey Edward Architecture until 2009. Pete then served as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, specializing in the Theory of Reinforced Concrete.

In 2010, Larsen took on multiple roles simultaneously. Pete volunteered as a Development Specialist at DASH for LaGrange, where they designed a sustainable prototype home. Pete also worked as an Architectural Intern at Jean Ascoli LEED Consulting and participated in Mission Year as a Volunteer, engaging in various ministry and community outreach activities.

From 2011 to 2015, Larsen served as an Architect at Bailey Edward Architecture, contributing to the successful completion of numerous projects across various sectors. Pete was particularly responsible for leading the design and execution efforts of four elementary school renovation/addition projects.

In 2015, Larsen joined Massa Multimedia Architecture, PC. Pete initially worked as a Project Manager / Project Architect and then progressed to the position of Senior Project Manager. Notably, they managed a $90 million addition and renovation project for New York City Public School 24 in Queens, which aimed to achieve accreditation under the NYC Green Schools program.

Larsen's career at Massa Multimedia Architecture, PC reached its peak in 2019 when they were promoted to the position of Director of Education, a role they currently hold.

Pete Larsen completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Business from Calvin University between the years 2001 and 2005. Pete then pursued a Master of Architecture (M.Arch.) degree in Architecture from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, which they obtained between 2006 and 2010. In addition to their formal education, Pete Larsen has also obtained several certifications, including NCARB from the National Council of Architecture Registration Boards in January 2015, AIA - American Institute of Architects from the State of Illinois in November 2014, and LEED AP BD+C from the United States Green Building Council in October 2012.
