Leonid Shmulevich

Leonid Shmulevich has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Leonid is currently the Chief Technology Officer at MMDSmart, a position they have held since October 2022. Prior to this, they worked as the Chief Technology Officer at Tango from September 2021 to September 2022.

Leonid has also held significant positions at Rakuten Viber, where they served as the Chief Technology Officer from December 2018 to September 2021, and as the VP R&D from April 2013 to December 2018. At Rakuten Viber, they led multiple development teams and was responsible for managing over 200 employees.

Before joining Rakuten Viber, Leonid worked at ECI Telecom as the Software Department Manager from March 2010 to April 2013. Leonid managed the Embedded SW Department and headed multi-site SW development teams.

Prior to their role at ECI Telecom, Leonid held senior positions at SanDisk® and Atrica. At SanDisk®, they served as the Sr. Director, Computing Solutions Division, leading engineering, QA, and project management teams. Leonid was also the VP R&D, USB Business Unit (M-Systems), where they played a key role in developing a new standard for USB Flash Devices (UFD) known as the U3 standard.

At Atrica, Leonid was the Director, Embedded Software, where they established and managed embedded software teams and was responsible for product architecture and system architecture roadmap.

Leonid's earlier work experience includes positions at 3com as a Project Manager/Embedded Software Manager, where they managed the development of asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) switches, and at telrad as a Team Leader, Embedded Software, where they developed embedded software for the first OC12 Transmission System.

Throughout their career, Leonid Shmulevich has demonstrated strong leadership and technical expertise across various domains, including technology management, software development, and project management.

Leonid Shmulevich studied Applied Mathematics at Baku State University. Leonid later pursued their MSc in Mathematics at Azerbaijan State University from 1983 to 1990.
