Sharand Maharaj is a seasoned investment professional currently serving as co-Managing Partner and co-Head of the Investment Committee at MML Infrastructure Private Equity, focusing on sustainable and socially necessary infrastructure investments. With extensive experience as a Director on the boards of over 15 diverse companies across multiple sectors, including infrastructure and renewable energy, Sharand has held prominent roles at Macquarie Group, where contributions as Managing Director in private equity resulted in significant investment returns. Previous experience includes strategy consulting at McKinsey & Company and equity trading at Deutsche Bank, complemented by a strong educational foundation with a Master’s degree in Financial Economics and a Rhodes Scholarship from the University of Oxford, as well as a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Cape Town.
