Amanda Crain is an experienced professional with a background in grant writing, marketing, and communications. Currently serving as a Grant Writer at the Metropolitan Organization to Counter Sexual Assault (MOCSA) since August 2019, Amanda has previously held positions including Marketing Consultant at Genesis Structures, Associate Development Director and Development Officer at KU Endowment, and Communications and Events Specialist at MOCSA. Additional experience includes roles as a Merchandise Specialist at VF Corporation and various editorial positions at Natural Home and Garden Magazine and the University Daily Kansan. Amanda holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism and Environmental Studies from The University of Kansas.

MOCSA’s mission is to improve the lives of those impacted by sexual abuse and assault and to prevent sexual violence in our community. Together we can create a community free from sexual assault and abuse. Our services are free of charge and available to survivors and their families in the Kansas City metropolitan area. We offer the following services: - 24-hour Crisis Services: 816-531-0233 & 913-642-0233 - Advocacy: hospital, legal, police, and court advocacy; support groups - Counseling: individual and group therapy - Education: age-appropriate programs for children in elementary, middle, and high schools; training for advocates, counselors, law enforcement, restaurant and bar staff, and other professionals - Prevention: supporting community based coalitions in both Missouri and Kansas to prevent sexual assault and other forms of violence
