Sara Braunstein is a Managing Director and member of the Global HR and Sports, Media & Entertainment practices. Her career spans over 20 years in media and technology, with 10+ years in global executive search. Sara specializes in executing searches for leaders across all industries, with deep expertise across digital, technology, media, entertainment, content, and sports. Sara has successfully placed C-Suite and Senior Executives across all corporate functions at blue-chip public and privately held PE-backed and VC-funded companies based in the US and London.
Prior to joining Modern, Sara was a Senior Consultant & Head of Research, North America and Principal at SRI. There, she led and supported searches for the Media, Entertainment, & Technology Practice. Before that, she was a Principal at boutique executive search firm James & Co. and a Senior Associate at Korn Ferry.
Earlier in her career, Sara led research and recruitment of retained consultants for the Technology, Media & Telecom (TMT) division at Guidepoint Global, the world’s second largest expert network. She was also a Research Analyst at Robert Frances Group, a startup IT advisory firm serving CIOs and their direct reports, where she primarily focused on enterprise software.
Sara holds a BA in Asian and Middle Eastern Studies with a concentration in Japanese from the University of Pennsylvania and a Certificate in Advanced Japanese from Hokkaido International Foundation (HIF).
