Simon Layton has over 30 years of work experience in Human Factors Engineering. Simon is currently the Director of Human Factors Engineering (HFE) at MES since September 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Atkins for 9 years as the Chief Human Factors Consultant. Before joining Atkins, they spent over 2 years at Lloyd's Register Human Engineering as the Americas Human Factors Business Manager and Risk Group Manager. Simon also worked at Human Engineering Limited for 15 years, where they held the role of Principal Human Factors Consultant & Business Development Director. Simon'scareer started at EPP Human Factors as an Ergonomist.

Simon Layton attended Solihull School in the UK from 1979 to 1986. Following this, they pursued a degree in Ergonomics at Loughborough University from 1986 to 1989.
