Lucas Wilke has a diverse work experience in the engineering field. Lucas started as an intern at Abengoa Bioenergy of Nebraska in 2014, where they gained practical experience. In 2016, they joined EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc., PBC as a technician. After two years, they transitioned to Monolith, where they began as an Associate Chemical Engineer in 2018. Lucas then progressed to the role of Elastomer Engineer in 2020 and currently serves as a Senior Elastomer Engineer at Monolith.

Lucas Wilke earned a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, which they attended from 2014 to 2018. Prior to that, from 2012 to 2014, they studied Chemical Engineering at the University of Wyoming College of Engineering and Physical Sciences. In addition to their formal education, Lucas also obtained certifications in Chemical Reactivity Hazards, Chemical Process Safety in the Chemical Process Industries, and Inherently Safer Design from the AIChE (American Institute of Chemical Engineers) in February 2018.
