Scientist I, Preclinical Biology at Montai Health

Samuel Lee has a diverse work experience history. Samuel started their career as a Research Assistant at Western University, where their responsibilities included mating drosophila for research on sexual selection and obtaining data for presentations and papers. Samuel then worked as a Laboratory Course Assistant and a Graduate Teaching Assistant, teaching courses on human physiology and bioethics.

After completing their Master's degree, Samuel worked as a PhD Graduate Researcher at McMaster University, focusing on investigating the effects of aging and platelet inhibition on coronary artery disease development in mouse models of atherosclerosis. Samuel led multiple research projects simultaneously, resulting in manuscript submissions and drafts, and collaborated with internal and external partners. Samuel also supervised and mentored undergraduate thesis students on a research project related to platelet inactivation's effects on coronary artery atherosclerosis.

Additionally, Samuel has tutoring experience as a Tutor at Tutor Doctor. Their technical skills include mouse handling, breeding, genotyping, blood and tissue collection, and experimental techniques related to atherosclerosis research. Samuel has received numerous awards for their research, conference presentations, and academic achievements.

Most recently, Samuel joined Montai Health as a Scientist I on the In Vivo Team, starting in October 2022.

Samuel Lee began their education journey in 2010 at Western University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Medical Sciences (Honors Specialization) degree. Samuel completed this undergraduate program in 2014.

Following their bachelor's degree, Samuel enrolled at Western University again in 2014. This time, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Physiology & Pharmacology. Samuel completed this program in 2016.

In 2017, Samuel began their Ph.D. at McMaster University. Samuel specialized in Medical Sciences with a focus on Blood & Vasculature. Samuel is expected to complete their Doctor of Philosophy degree in 2022.

Alongside their academic studies, Samuel also obtained additional certifications at McMaster University. In April 2021, they received an Instructional Skills Workshop Certificate from the Paul R. MacPherson Institute. Samuel also obtained a Teaching and Learning Foundations Certificate in the same month and year from the same institution.
