EMEA Senior Channel Manager at Moodle

José Marcos L. has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over several companies and roles. José Marcos started their career at Unión detallistas de Alimentación in 1991, where they worked in the Expansion department conducting surveys for optimal supermarket locations and maintaining the corporate brand image within the supermarket chain.

In 1992, they joined Philips Consumer Electronics as the Sales and Marketing director, a role they held until 1999. During their time at Philips, they managed the sales and marketing strategies and activities.

After leaving Philips, José worked at Intel as the Retail Marketing Manager from 1999 to 2003. In this role, they managed relationships with key stakeholders in the retail industry and oversaw all B2C Intel campaigns and promotions.

From 2003 to 2008, José worked at GTI software and Networking Spain as a Sales Manager. José Marcos was responsible for managing the sales department, including distribution and solutions areas. José Marcos led a team of approximately 60 people and worked with a wide range of partners and system integrators.

In 2008, José joined Sage España and held multiple roles within the company. José Marcos initially served as the SMB Distribution Director, managing the relationship between Sage and the channel. José Marcos then became the Regional Sales Manager, where they focused on growing the business for ERP and CRM solutions, particularly in the cloud segment. Later, they took on the role of Strategic Alliances Manager, managing all strategic alliances to increase revenue and brand position in the Spanish market.

José later moved to Unit4 in 2015 as the Senior Partner Manager, where they created and developed the partner structure in Iberia and Latam for Unit4 Business World.

In 2018, José joined Teamleader CRM as the Country Manager, overseeing operations and growth in the country.

Currently, José is working at Moodle as the EMEA Channel Manager, responsible for developing and maintaining the partner ecosystem to support Moodle's financial sustainability and empower educators worldwide.

Throughout their career, José has demonstrated strong leadership, strategic planning, and relationship management skills. José Marcos has experience in various industries, including technology, retail, and education.

José Marcos L. obtained their COU (Certificado de Orientación Universitaria) from Pablo VI for their secondary education, which they completed between 1970 and 1984. José Marcos then pursued a higher level of education at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, where they earned their Licenciado degree in Ciencias Económicas y Empresariales from 1984 to 1989. Later, in 2014 and 2015, José attended ISDI (Instituto Superior para el Desarrollo de Internet) and completed their Master in Internet Business (MIB) degree, specializing in the field of internet business. Apart from their formal education, José also holds an EFSET English Certificate from EF Education First, indicating an advanced level of English proficiency with a score of 66 out of 100, equivalent to CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) level C1.
