Erica Melendrez has extensive work experience in the education sector. Erica started their career in 2006 as an Elementary School Teacher at Moreno Valley Unified School District. Erica then transitioned to the role of an English Teacher in 2009 and worked in this position until 2016. In 2016, Erica became an Instructional Coach at MVUSD, where they provided support and guidance to educators. In 2018, they were promoted to the position of Assistant Administrator of Instructional Improvement & Academic Coaching. Currently, Erica holds the role of School Principal at Moreno Valley Unified School District, a position they have held since November 2021.
Erica Melendrez earned a Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies from California State University-San Bernardino in 2004. Erica then pursued a Master's degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Southern California from 2008 to 2010. In 2016 and 2017, they also obtained an Administrative Credential from the University of Southern California.
