James Sterling has a wealth of experience in business and legal affairs, with a particular focus on the television industry. James is currently the Executive Vice President and Head of Business and Legal Affairs for Television at MRC. Prior to that, they served as the Business Affairs Lead and Head of Scripted Business Affairs at Quibi from 2019 to 2021. James also held the position of Senior Business Affairs Executive at Amazon Studios from 2014 to 2019. Before joining Amazon, James was the Vice President of Business and Legal Affairs at Viacom from 2010 to 2014. James began their career at NBCUniversal, Inc. in 2009 in the Television Legal Affairs department. James also has experience as the Senior Vice President of Business Affairs and Operations at EQAL, as well as in Business and Legal Affairs at Mark Burnett Productions. James started their legal career as an Associate at Lavely and Singer, P.C. in 2001.
James Sterling completed their Juris Doctor (JD) degree in Law from USC Gould School of Law, starting in 1998 and graduating in 2001. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in History and Public Policy from UCLA, where they studied from 1994 to 1998. In December 2001, James Sterling became a member of the State Bar of California.
