Michael Hiscox is an experienced procurement and commercial services leader currently serving as General Manager at the Ministry of Social Development since October 2023. With a strong background in government and defense procurement, Michael previously held various senior roles at the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, including Manager of the Commercial Pool and Programme Manager for Broader Outcomes through Government Procurement. Michael's international experience includes a tenure as Project Director for the New Zealand Defence Force and Commercial Manager at the UK Ministry of Defence. In addition to professional expertise, Michael holds a Master's Degree in Defence Acquisition Management from Cranfield University and has completed governance training through the Institute of Directors in New Zealand.
