Rob Gold is an experienced professional in employee relations and remuneration, currently serving as the Director at the Ministry of Social Development since March 2021, with a prior role as Chief Advisor in Industrial Relations at the Ministry of Education. Gold is also the Chair and an elected Board member of Basketball New Zealand. Previous experience includes roles at the New Zealand School Trustees Association, where expertise in governance and employment support was provided, and as a Barrister and Solicitor at Gold Law, focusing on employment law. Notable earlier positions include legal advisory services for NZ Police and various enforcement roles within the police force. Gold holds a Bachelor of Laws from Victoria University of Wellington and a Diploma in Business Studies from Tai Poutini Polytechnic.
