Albert Serna is an accomplished journalist and educator currently serving as an Adjunct Professor of Journalism at Mt. San Antonio College since January 2025. With a strong commitment to transparency and investigative reporting, Albert holds the position of Board Member at NLGJA: The Association of LGBTQ+ Journalists and previously acted as Chapter President for the NLGJA Los Angeles Chapter. Notably, Albert completed a fellowship as a Howard Center Investigative Reporting Fellow at OpenSecrets, focusing on political donations and the influence of money in politics. Prior experience includes roles as an Investigative Reporter at the Howard Center for Investigative Journalism and Tampa Bay Times, as well as community reporting for Boyle Heights Beat. Educational credentials include a Master of Arts in Investigative Journalism from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from San Francisco State University.
