HK Chan also holds various advisory and council positions, including being a Council Member at MTR Academy, a member of the Industrial Advisory Committees at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and a board member of the Transport and Logistics Training Board at Vocational Training Council. HK Chan completed a Master of Science in Engineering degree from The University of Hong Kong from 1996 to 1998. Prior to that, from 1991 to 1994, they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. In addition to their formal education, HK Chan obtained certifications including CEng from the Engineering Council in December 2000, MHKIE from The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers in September 2000, and MIMechE from the Institution of Mechanical Engineers in June 2000.
