Mercedes Rowe Asamani

Mercedes Rowe Asamani is a dedicated professional who serves as the Local Science Partner for the American Geophysical Union, focusing on building relationships with federal legislators to support AGU's policy priorities. As the Founder of GreenLead, an NGO aimed at empowering young Africans in climate solutions, and Executive Director of Rowe Consulting, Asamani leads a team providing diverse consultancy services. Current academic pursuits include a Doctor of Philosophy in Energy and Environmental Policy at Michigan Technological University, where Asamani also works as a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant. With substantial experience in political and social affairs through roles at the All-Africa Students Union, Asamani has advocated for youth collaboration in governance and spearheaded initiatives for climate resilience. Additional leadership includes roles at the Ghana Cocoa Board, Foodiction, and the Ghana Center For Democratic Development, alongside a background in managing international collaborations within the Commonwealth Youth Council.
