John Mulhall came to Omaha in 1953 to landscape, and now, three generations later, we’re as committed as we’ve ever been to making Omaha a more beautiful place to live. Today we’re a team of a few hundred people, but our focus remains the same: working together to engage our community and share our passion for the beauty of the natural world. And we have fun doing it.   A DAY IN THE LIFE As a member of our Nursery Yard team, you’ll report to the Nursery Yard Senior Team Leader.  Your primary focus will include helping our customers purchase trees, shrubs, and perennials by keeping the sales floor fully stocked, watered, and weeded – all in line with our vision to be the most loved plant shop in the country.   Core accountabilities include:   1.         Champion Customer Service o    Actively welcome and assist customers to help them find the plant or solution they need, using our waitlist program o    Take the initiative to educate yourself on the plants, trees, and shrubs we sell o    Answer customer questions about trees, shrubs, perennials, and native plants both in person and over the phone o    Understand plant inventory numbers to accurately understand what is available 2.        Support Plant Health o    Follow the watering schedule for the plants in your scheduled zone o    Follow the weed management schedule for the plants in your scheduled zone o    Be an active champion of plant health and the orderliness and consistency that drives it o    Help lead the plant replenishment process 3.        Execute the Process o    Consistently refer to your weekly schedule and daily zone schedule for tasks and responsibilities o    Ensure plants are organized through the Pickup + Delivery Process in order to give our customers an efficient pickup experience and decrease time-on-site o    Support the team in organizing, cleaning, and replenishing the sales floor. o    Operate small heavy machinery to transport plants throughout the Nursery Yard   WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR ·         A belief in what we do here: making our community a more beautiful place ·         A positive, flexible, self-starting attitude with strong attention to detail ·         Commitment to maintaining a positive attendance record ·         The ability to bend and lift loads up to 50 pounds as well as move equipment up and down   WHAT WE OFFER ·         An inclusive, passionate, and fun work environment ·         The opportunity to join our friendly, high-energy Nursery Yard Team   ·         Great potential for personal and professional growth ·         A discount on all plants and plant things you love
