School Town of Munster
Colleen Bergren serves as the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction at the School Town of Munster since July 2021, leading initiatives that improved the district's academic performance, particularly advancing the state ranking in reading from 15th to 5th over three years. Prior experiences include roles as Senior Specialist at the National Institute for Excellence in Teaching, Director of Student Services at Lyons School District 103, and Principal at School City of Hammond. Colleen Bergren holds multiple degrees, including a Director of Exceptional Needs in Administration of Special Education, an Educational Specialist in Educational Leadership, and two Master’s Degrees in Educational Leadership and Secondary Education, all complemented by a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Purdue University.

Comprised of one high school, one middle school (grades 6-8) and three elementary schools (grades K-5), the School Town of Munster enrollment is 4100 students. STM is one of the original ten school corporations in the state of Indiana to receive District Accreditation from AdvancED.
