Brendan Boyce Murphy, PhD, is a Research and Development Specialist at Murata since August 2022, managing a two-year independent research project focused on novel material formulations for biomedical applications. Responsibilities include weekly experimental planning and implementation, data analysis, and optimizing designs for wearable health monitoring technologies. Prior to this role, Brendan served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Pennsylvania from July 2017 to August 2022, conducting materials science research on MXene and carbon-based nanomaterials. Brendan earned a PhD in Bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania and a B.S. in Physics from Arizona State University, demonstrating a solid foundation in both engineering and science disciplines.
