John Toumbourou

John Toumbourou is a distinguished leader in the fields of prevention science and health psychology, currently serving as the Leader of Prevention Science at the Centre for Social and Early Emotional Development (SEED) since January 2016. With a long-standing affiliation with Deakin University, where John holds the position of Professor and Chair in Health Psychology, John has made significant contributions to reshaping Australian health policies on adolescent alcohol misuse. Additionally, John is the Chief Executive Officer of Communities That Care Ltd, focusing on community prevention strategies, and holds an honorary role as Senior Research Fellow at the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute, leading research on adolescent substance use. John also has a history of senior research involvement at the Centre for Adolescent Health Melbourne and previously served as an Associate Professor at the University of Melbourne.
