Leah Lehmbeck

Leah Lehmbeck is an experienced art curator and department head, currently serving as the Department Head of European Painting and Sculpture, and American Art at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art since April 2014. Previously, Leah held various roles at the Norton Simon Museum, including Curator, Associate Curator, and Assistant Curator, from November 2007 to April 2014. Additionally, Leah worked as a Researcher for the Paintings Department at the J. Paul Getty Museum in 2007 and co-authored the Harriet Frishmuth Catalogue Raisonne from 1999 to 2006. Other notable positions include the Bradford and Christine Mishler Curatorial Fellow in American Art at the Huntington Library in 2005 and a Cataloguer/Administrator in the American Paintings Department at Christies from 1997 to 1999. Leah earned a Ph.D. in Art History from New York University between 1999 and 2007 and a BA in Art History from Columbia University from 1993 to 1997.
